Avi Shporer is a Pipeline/Research Scientist for the Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS). Previously Avi was a Sagan Postdoctoral Fellow at JPL, a Postdoctoral Scholar at Caltech, and a Postdoctoral Fellow at LCO (formerly named LCOGT). Avi’s research stretches from exoplanets to binary stars and he is broadly interested in time domain astronomy. Avi is especially interested in the study of orbital phase curves, which was only recently enabled by high quality time series photometry obtained by space-based surveys. He is currently working with the TESS mission to discover nearby exoplanets that will be the best targets for detailed characterization studies.
